2nd ODI: Brilliant Shakib leads Bangladesh to series win in Zimbabwe | Cricket News

All terrain Shakib Al Hasan scored an excellent unbeaten 96 as Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by three wickets in their second one-day International at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday to take an impregnable 2-0 lead in the three-game series.
Zimbabwe posted a competitive 240 of nine in its 50 overs, but tourists chased the total with five balls remaining, thanks in large part to Shakib’s half-century undefeated coming off 109 balls.
After the home team chose to hit, Wessley madhevere (56) scored better, but found little support in the lower order, such as the left arm closer Miserable Islam (4-46) was the bowlers’ choice.
Bangladesh was in trouble at 173-for-seven in their response, before Shakib and Mohammad Saifuddin (28 was not) posted an undefeated 69 at 10.4 overs for the eighth field to lead them to victory.
The third ODI will be played at the same venue and will be followed by three Twenty20 Internationals.
