The NCB objected to the request, claiming that the plaintiff had direct ties to two main defendants in the case from whom a large “commercial” amount of contraband was recovered.
Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), crimes involving commercial quantities (which vary for different prohibited substances) carry greater punishment.
Previously, a magistrate court had denied Kohli bail.
The actor had appeared in Salman Khan’s start ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ among other Hindi films, and was also one of the contestants on the reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’.
