Amazon: How Amazon Plans to Bring Employees Back to the Offices


While there seems to be no clear ending in sight for the pandemic, parts of the world are slowly returning to some kind of normalcy. Courtesy of large-scale vaccination campaigns, some countries have gradually begun to ‘open up’ and with this in mind, tech companies have been coming up with plans for employees to return to offices in one form or another. In an officer Blog, the company explained how it plans to move forward. “Like all companies and organizations in the world, we are managing all stages of this pandemic for the first time, learning and evolving as we move forward,” said the company.
As part of the “learn” and “evolve” process, Amazon offers employees a combination of work from home and the office. “Our new baseline will be three days a week in the office (and the specific days will be determined by your leadership team), allowing you to work remotely for up to two days a week,” Amazon told its employees.
Amazon further said that certain employees who worked remotely before the pandemic (sales and customer service positions) will continue to work remotely. For employees in roles that require site work, such as front-line operations and hardware engineers, these individuals will continue to work on site.
“We’ve been thinking about how to balance our desire to provide flexibility to work from home with our belief that we invent the best for customers when we’re in the office together,” Amazon told employees.
Other tech giants like Apple They have also indicated that employees will be returning to the offices soon in one form or another. Google It has also said that it is recreating office spaces and developing a “hybrid” work model for its employees.
