BCCI unveils Team India’s new jersey ahead of T20 World Cup | Cricket News


NEW DELHI: Claiming to be inspired by fans, the Indian Cricket team shirt for next World Cup T20 it was unveiled on Wednesday, days before the country opens its campaign with a long-awaited showdown against archrival Pakistan in Dubai.
The tournament will take place from October 17 to November 14 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
The new jersey, called ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’, has been inspired by fans and was introduced by MPL Sports, the official kit sponsor for Indian men’s, women’s and under-19 teams.

“This is the first time in Indian cricket history that fans have been commemorated on a jersey. It carries their chants and cheers from iconic past matches, transformed into unique sound wave patterns,” stated a statement from MPL Sports.
The jersey comes in shades of Prussian Blue and Royal Blue.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said: “The Indian cricket team enjoys support not only in India but around the world, and there is no better way to celebrate their enthusiasm and energy than through this jersey.
“This will undoubtedly provide the team with much needed enthusiastic support in their quest to emerge as the T20 world champions. We are also pleased to see MPL Sports continue to deliver products that are widely affordable and accessible.”

The board’s secretary, Jay Shah, echoed the opinion.
“The story behind the jersey is the story of every cricket fan in India. We are confident that wearing this will be a source of great pride for both the team and the fans.”
The shirt will be available in stores for Rs 1,799. Along with this, more than 10 variations, including a player edition jersey and pattern. virat KohliThe signature jersey number 18 has been launched.
