Before 2017, only those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ got ration: Yogi | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Sunday slammed the previous one Samajwadi Party (SP) and the governments of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the state and accused them of participating in appeasement policies.
Addressing a UP rally in Kushinagar, the prime minister said that under PM Modi leadership, there is no place for appeasement politics.
“Before 2017, could everyone get rations? Only before, those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ were digesting the ration.” Yogi said.

Last month, Yogi sparked protests from Samajwadi Party members in the state legislative council when he referred to his patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav as “abba jaan.”
The generally respectful Urdu term for “father” created a scandal, as SP members took it as a mockery by the BJP, suggesting that the opposition party remained Muslim-centered.
The prime minister on Sunday inaugurated and laid the cornerstones of 122 development projects worth 245 million rupees in the Sant Kabir Nagar district.
The projects also included the district prison built at Rs 126 crore.
