While reviewing Hanu-Man, Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV said, “Hanu-Man is a mix of the mythical and the mundane, the bombastic and the joyous. The film constantly moves from the epic to the everyday as it presents the coming-of-age story of an ordinary village boy who one day gains the strength of Hanuman. The first hour or so of the 158-minute film is dedicated to setting the stage for the big transition: man's extraordinary leap into the league of superheroes as the world knows them. Only after 40 minutes of wandering through his merry antics and comical misadventures does Hanu-Man reach the point from where he can begin the essential classic confrontation between good and evil.
Hanu-Man is the first installment of Prasanth Varma's cinematic universe. Apart from Teja Sajja, the film stars Amritha Aiyer, Veralaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai and Deepak Shetty.
