NEW DELHI: The Center has written to the states and Union territories, advising them not to share Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) data on vaccine stocks and vaccine storage temperatures in public forums, and noting that this is “sensitive information and to be used solely for the improvement of Program”.
In a recent letter to the states, the Union Ministry of Health said the Center, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has implemented the eVIN system under UIP, which is used to track the status of vaccine stocks and temperature at all storage levels. of vaccines, from the national to the sub-district level.
In the letter, the Health Ministry said it was overwhelming to see that all states are using the system to update Covid vaccine stocks and transactions on a daily basis.
“In this regard, please note that the data and analysis generated by eVIN for inventory and temperature are the property of the Ministry of Health and should not be shared with any other organization, partner agency, media agency, public online and offline forums without the consent of the ministry.
“This is very sensitive information and should be used only to improve the program,” said the letter written by Pradeep Haldar, Reproductive and Child Health Adviser (RCH) to all mission directors of the National Health Mission in all states and territories of the Union.
