His reaction came two days later. Vijay rupani resigned as chief minister of Gujarat. Bhupendra Patel succeeded him.
“The BJP is busy replacing their non-compliant chief ministers. When did the BJP leaders realize that they were CMs in an irregular situation,” he asked on Twitter.
Before Rupani in Gujarat, the BJP had replaced Lingayat’s stalwart BS Yediyurappa as Karnataka CM with Basavaraj S Bommai.
Uttarakhand secured three different chief ministers in four months when the BJP replaced Trivendra Singh Rawat with Tirath Singh Rawat, before incorporating Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Chidambaram said that people in the states in question had known for months that BS Yediyurappa, the two Rawat and Rupani were “in non-compliance”.
“There are more that need to be replaced. In Haryana, Goa, Tripura, etc … The list is long,” he said on Twitter.
