Cong MP gives adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha on farmers’ protest, agri laws | India News


NEW DELHI: Congressional Deputy Manickam Tagore has filed a notice of motion for adjournment in Lok Sabha to discuss the farmers‘he protests as he demands the government to withdraw the new agricultural laws.
“I hereby give notice of my intention to request permission to file a motion to postpone the business of the home in order to discuss a specific matter of urgent importance, namely: -” To discuss the prolonged agitation of farmers against the Farmers Bill and order the Government to withdraw it, “Tagore wrote to the General Secretary of Lok Sabha.
Farmers have been protesting on the different borders of the national capital since November 26 last year against the three recently enacted agricultural laws: Trade in Agricultural Products and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act of 2020; the Agreement on the Empowerment and Protection of Farmers Price guarantee and the Agricultural Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.
So far, several rounds of talks have been held between the Center and peasant leaders to break the deadlock between the two sides.
