The weekly average of cases shows that the average that was 42.5k in the first week of July decreased to 39.5k in the second and 38.3k in the third. Between the states, Kerala and the Northeast are still experiencing a surge as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha appear to have stalled.
Kerala reported 17,481 cases on Wednesday, which was the highest among the states. Manipur reported 1,327 cases – the highest in the state so far. Maharashtra’s case count of 8,159 cases was the second highest after Kerala. Meanwhile, more than 3,500 ancient deaths have been added to Maharashtra.
