With Director’s Cut, the samurai-themed game set on the island of Tsushima has now expanded to another island called Iki where another mystery awaits Jin sakai, the ‘Ghost’ warrior who single-handedly terrorized the Mongolian troops who had seized the island from Japanese control. Here’s a rundown of all the new things the Director’s Cut will add to the base game.
The Iki Island: New villain, the dark secret of the Sakai clan
Iki Island expands the story of Ghost of Tsushima. Jin discovers that the island has been taken over by a mysterious Mongol tribe. The leader of the tribe is a shaman named Ankhsar Khatun or “the Eagle”. “As a khatun and shaman, she is not only a conqueror of nations, but also a shepherd of souls. And the danger it poses to Jin and his people is unlike any they have ever faced, ”reads the blog post from Sucker Punch Productions, the game developers. In addition, the Sakai clan keeps a dark secret that Jin can only discover by going to Iki Island, a place the Japanese have not given much thought for decades.
