Google Chrome to redisplay the full URL of websites

Tech giant Google has decided to reverse the changes it made to the appearance of website URLs in address bars, and decided to go with the idea of a full website address rather than a cropped one, according to a developer doc seen by Android Police. Previously, the decision to shorten URLs by just showing the website’s domain name and hiding the rest of the parts received some criticism when Google implemented it, but said in its defense that shortening the URL in the address bar was one way. to simplify the multifunction chart and is intended to help people identify websites. Now, the tech giant seems to have reconsidered.
The change has been implemented with the Chrome 91, hiding only “https: //” this time. If you want to see that part also in the web address, right-click on the Web address in the address bar and select “Always show full URLs”. Now you can see the full web address.
According to Google, its move to shorten URLs did not improve user security in any major way. So with the new update, the changes have been reverted. In case you are not very keen on adding this update, you still need to update your Google Chrome browser if it is your main browser. It is the first line of defense against any malware that enters your system unknowingly. The rest depends on whether you have a reliable antivirus solution installed on your device or not.
