HC refuses to quash CBI FIR on corruption charges against Anil Deshmukh | India News


MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court refused on Thursday to annul the First information report (FIR TREE) filed by the IWC against former Maharashtra Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh, accused of corruption and misconduct.
A bank of Judges SS Shinde Y NJ Jamadar He said Deshmukh’s request to annul the FIR “deserved to be dismissed.”
The FIR was registered against Deshmukh and some unidentified individuals on April 24 this year on charges of corruption and misconduct following a preliminary investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in compliance with the order of the higher court.
The HC also rejected Deshmukh’s request to stay his sentence to give him time to file an appeal against it.
