OSLO (Norway): India greco roman wrestlers cut an unfortunate figure at the World Championships, as none of them were able to enter the medal rounds on Friday.
In the 51 kg category, Sandeep crashed in the first round losing 0-7 against Turkey’s Ekrem Ozturk, followed by the expulsion of Gyanender in the 60 kg that he lost 2-3 against the Japanese Ayata Suzuki.
In the 72 kg category, Vikas retired in the qualifying round, losing to Cengiz Arslan of Turkey.
Sajan then lost his 77kg fight in the opening round against Tamas levai from Hungary.
The script was the same in the 82kg, 97kg and 130kg divisions.
Weather Harpreet Singh lost to Irishman Pejman Soltanmorad Poshtam in the 82kg qualifying round, Korea’s Jewoo Park showed Ravi the door.
In the 130 kg category, Sonu lost to Radoslav Plamenov Georgiev of Bulgaria in the qualifying rounds.
