Indian team undergoes first group training session before WTC final | Cricket news


SOUTHAMPTON: India held its first group practice session on a field adjacent to the Ageas Bowl here on Thursday, five days after being allowed staggered training in the run-up to the World Trials Championship final against New Zealand.
The WTC final is scheduled to take place June 18-22.
It was the first time that the players mingled with their teammates on the ground after they were allowed to run in the gym and main playing field in different time slots upon completing the third day of their harsh quarantine in the UK. .
“We had our first group training session and the intensity was high. # TeamIndia preparations are in full swing for the # WTC21 final,” BCCI wrote in a Twitter post along with a short video of the training session.

Previously, players were allowed to leave their rooms at the Hilton Hotel, a Hampshire Bowl property, on the third day, after which they began their individual training.
Players also received basic equipment in their rooms for exercise purposes.
