DUBLIN (Ireland): Cricket Ireland on Thursday confirmed that they will play a preparation match against Scotland and a three-match T20I series against United Arab Emirates at the ICC Academy in Dubai as part of a pre-ICC prep camp World Cup T20 in October.
“The matches were officially announced by the Emirates Cricket Board, a series of matches between October 5 and 10 involving the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Scotland, Namibia and Papua New Guinea,” said an official. Cricket Ireland statement.
Team Ireland will depart for the United Arab Emirates on Friday and undergo a mandatory six-day hotel quarantine before training can begin.
A preliminary team of 18 players was recently announced; this will be reduced to 15 for the T20 World Cup tournament, however the other three players will continue to travel to the UAE as reserves.
