jee main odisha topper 2021: Goutam Das Odisha topper in JEE Main


BHUBANESWAR: Goutam Das, a Sai International School student here, has become Odisha topper in the JEE (Main) exam, the result of which was published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday. He wants to study computer science at IIT Bombay.

Das scored 99,999 NTA on the JEE (Main) -2021 paper-1 exam. Paper-I consists of BE / BTech. He was also the leader of JEE (Main) – 2021 (February session). After four sessions of this entrance test were completed, the ranks of the candidates were unveiled on Wednesday taking into consideration the best of the four NTA scores.

The topper, a native of the town of Balasore, said he was balancing between training and school classes while preparing for JEE Main. “I was religiously following the NCERT books in preparation for this national entrance test. I was also practicing the previous year and other model questions, ”he added.

He said that math is his favorite subject. “Initially, physics was difficult for me, but then I understood this topic with the help of our teachers,” he said, adding, “Now I am focusing on the JEE Advanced exam that will take place on October 3rd. If I get All India With a range between 50 and 60, I can get a seat at IIT Bombay. ”

Das, the son of a businessman, said that he had entered Sai Bhubaneswar International School after passing class X of an Odia high school in Balasore. Since he did not like hostels, his mother came to stay with him in his rented accommodation in the city. “At first, I had trouble understanding English and the terminology of some subjects. I faced a problem on the Plus II the first year. After the intervention of the teachers, I came out of the language problems in a few months ”, he added.

He said that the Covid-19 pandemic has not created any obstacles to their preparedness. “Although Covid-19 has wreaked havoc around the world, it did not affect my study. I had a lot of time at home to study, since I did not travel to training class or school. The exams were carried out in a safe environment and with adequate social distancing ”, he added.

Das was also Odisha’s best from the National Entrance Assessment Test (NEST) for a seat in the National Institute of Scientific Education and Research (NISER).

“I am ecstatic that Gautam was ranked 28th in All India and 1st in the state at JEE (Main) -2021. Your hard work, perseverance and dedication have reaped the fruits of success. Not only has he made the school proud, but the entire state is proud of his unerring achievement, ”said Silpi Sahoo, president of the Sai International Education Group.

Tanya Dixit was the state leader in the female category with an NTA score of 99,865.
