JAMMU: Newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Pankaj Kumar Singh on Thursday visited the outpost areas of Samba and Kathua districts along the international border under its Jammu Border. He’s on a two-day visit to Jammu.
A BSF spokesperson said that the Director General arrived in Jammu on Thursday afternoon and assessed the security situation, as well as holding meetings with senior officials from the Jammu border.
Accompanied by NS Jamwal, IG, BSF, Jammu Frontier and other officers, the DG reviewed the overall deployment of the force and its plan of domination. The Director General visited the critical areas of the Basantar River, Tarnha Nallah, Bain Nallah and other areas of Samba, Kathua and Hiranagar and held discussions with the sector / unit commanders on the ground ”.
Jamwal briefed the Director General on the complexities of managing the Jammu border in the current scenario, the spokesperson said.
He added that the Director General also interacted with the Jawans and praised them for their dedication to safeguarding the international border. “The Director General also appreciated the alertness of the BSF troops and said that the detection of tunnels in the past shows their devotion to their duty for the homeland. In turn, the motivated border men met their new boss with full enthusiasm and zeal, upholding Covid-19 protocols such as social distancing, ”said the BSF spokesperson.
