NEW DELHI: India Has Administered 80 Crore Of Covid-19 Vaccine Doses So Far, Union Health Minister Mansukh mandaviya he said on Saturday.
The nationwide vaccination campaign against the coronavirus was launched on January 16 and health workers were vaccinated in the first phase.
“Standing in front of Covid-19. India administers Rs 80 million vaccine doses. Congratulations to the nation for this momentous feat.” Mandaviya he tweeted using the hashtag “WorldsLargestVaccinationDrive”.
On Friday, India delivered the highest vaccines in a single day with doses of 2.5 crore delivered in 24 hours, which Mandaviya described as a golden chapter in world history.
India took 85 days to hit the 10 crore vaccination mark, 45 more days to cross the 20 crore mark and 29 more days to hit the 30 crore mark, according to the Ministry of Health.
It took the country 24 days to reach 40 crore of 30 crore doses and then another 20 days to cross the 50 crore vaccination mark on Aug. 6, the ministry said.
It took 19 more days to break the 60 crore mark and it only took 13 days to get to 70 crore from 60 crore on Sept. 7, he said.
The total number of doses administered crossed the 75 crore mark on September 13.
