Chipset manufacturer MediaTek has announced two new chipsets in its Helio G series for budget Android smartphones. The new chipsets are Helio G96 and Helio G88. The newest Helio G series chipsets offer support for panel refresh rates up to 120Hz along with 108MP cameras.
The MediaTek Helio G96 SoC offers support for 120Hz displays with resolution up to FullHD + and has no limitation in supplying DDIC, C-phy or D-phy interface, and supports LCD or AMOLED displays. It can support cameras up to 108MP. In terms of connectivity, there is integration of Cat-13 4G LTE WorldMode modem, dual 4G SIM and VoLTE and ViLTE services.
On the other hand, the SoC MediaTek Helio G88 supports 90Hz displays. It comes with an eight-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs operating at up to 2.0GHz. The Helio G88 comes with support for main cameras up to 64MP, a hardware depth engine for dual camera bokeh captures, a Camera Control Unit (CCU), and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and shutter compensation technologies. rolling (RSC).
Both chipsets can be seen in Android phones in the budget to mid-range segment. Also, both chips are only 4G-enabled and there is no support for 5G.
Meanwhile, for the first time, OnePlus will launch a phone with a MediaTek chipset with the launch of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset. Until now, all OnePlus smartphones that were launched in the country were powered by Qualcomm chipsets.
