Fernandes, former Minister of the Union and Rajya sabha member, died in a private hospital in Mangaluru on Monday. He was 80 years old, family sources said.
Fernandes was hospitalized in July after suffering a head injury from a fall while practicing yoga at home. He had also had surgery to remove a clot in his brain.
