NC demands CBI inquiry into death of J&K ex-MLC | India News


JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National conference (NC) on Saturday looked for a CBI investigation into the death of party leader and former legislative council member Trilochan Singh Wazir. The decomposed body of the North Carolina leader was found under mysterious circumstances in the national capital Thursday morning.
North Carolina’s top leaders, led by Provincial President Devender Singh Rana, said Saturday that multiple theories about the death are circulating, and that a CBI investigation must be ordered to uncover the truth. The leaders also said investigations must be carried out quickly.
Wazir was a prominent leader of the party and his contribution in different capacities such as serving as president. Gurdwara Parbandhak Board it has been immense, the statement said.
Leaders of the National Conference are also meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to press for his demand to carry out a CBI investigation into Wazir’s death.
In the early morning, thousands of people, including former Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, senior BJP Leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Kavinder Gupta and J&K Congressional Senior Vice President Raman Bhalla attended the last Wazir rites.
