Over 72 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses provided to states, UTs, says health ministry | India News


More than 72 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far via the Government of India’s free channel, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Saturday.
While mentioning that the Union government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of Covid-19 vaccination across the country, the ministry said: “More than 72.01crore (72,01,73,325) doses have been provided. from vaccine to states / UT so far Government of India (free of cost channel) and through the category of direct state purchases “.
“More than 5.75 crore (5.75.43,795) balance and unused COVID-19 the doses of the vaccine are still available with the states / UTs to be administered, “he added.
Earlier today, India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 73 million rupees, of which 65,27,175 doses of vaccine were administered in the past 24 hours, the MoHFW reported.
