SOUTHAMPTON: With only seven days to go World Trials Championship (WTC) final, the Indian team leaves no stone unturned to prepare for the summit clash against New Zealand.
India and New Zealand will meet in the WTC final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.
As part of their preparation, the Indian team is playing a match within the squad to get into the rhythm before the WTC Final.
The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) on Friday shared images of the setup showing the players working hard as they played the match.
“Snapshots from the first session of our in-team match simulation here in Southampton,” tweeted BCCI.

virat Kohli and the boys’ preparations are in full swing for the WTC final. BCCI had shared a glimpse of Team India’s “high intensity” training session on Thursday morning.

The Indian cricket team had landed in Southampton on June 3, and after that all members of the touring contingent underwent a mandatory three-day quarantine. At the Hampshire Bowl, the players were retested before beginning a period of controlled isolation. Periodic tests will be conducted during the isolation period.
Before leaving for England, India coach Ravi shastri had said that in the future, the International Cricket Council (ICC) should seek to make the WTC final a best-of-three contest and could be played as a three-match series.
Meanwhile, the New Zealand team is already in the UK for their bilateral series against England and the team will move from the ECB biosecure environment in the final bubble of the WTC on June 15 and will be subject to regular testing before and after arrival in Southampton.
