NEW DELHI: amid speculation about a shakeup in the Union cabinet Prime Minister Narendra modi on Friday he held meetings with Interior Minister Amit Cha and president of BJP JP Nadda.
There is also a growing rumor about the expansion of the cabinet in Uttar Pradesh after the prime minister Yogi Adityanath he met the top brass of the BJP during his two-day visit to the national capital.
Modi has been meeting with Union ministers in different groups lately, and Nadda has also been present there, sources told the PTI news agency.
Meetings between top BJP leaders at the prime minister’s residence came a day after Shah also met with party allies from Uttar Pradesh, including Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel, who was a minister in the prime Modi government but was not installed in the next.
The BJP has lately been involved in reviewing its organization and government works in different states.
Nadda had also held a meeting with the party’s general secretaries where, in addition to the relief work carried out by the saffron organization during the Covid-19 pandemic, her performance in recent assembly polls was reviewed.
With the party now preparing for the next round of assembly elections in five states early next year, including in all major Uttar Pradesh, it is expected to take various steps to bolster its social equation.
