punjab: Compromise not way ahead, says Sidhu day ahead of AICC meeting | India News

CHANDIGARH: One day before your meeting with AICC Punjab caretaker Harish Rawat and Congress general secretary KC Venugopal in delhi, PCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu said in a video on Wednesday that the party’s high command had facilitated it, but that no concessions could be made to move forward. He also cited the state’s poor financial health as an obstacle to solving the state’s key problems, including the 18-point agenda of the AICC.
Sidhu had resigned as head of the Punjab CCP last month due to his objections to the appointments of the state DGP and the general counsel. Ahead of the meeting scheduled to discuss the organizational problems of the Punjab Congress, Sidhu’s video and his “no compromise” comment have fueled speculation about his next move. Well-placed sources said that the central leadership can accept Sidhu’s resignation.
In the video posted on his social media account, he said: “Someone who understands my love for Punjab will never point the finger at me … You should facilitate and the high command has done so … But how do we move forward if we make compromises “… the system rises to bite you. We will fight … In politics, 5 can become 50 and 50 can be zero.”
