Bajrang Chhimpa, the victim’s lawyer, said the court had convicted Pragya Prateek Shukla, director of the Jain Aadarsh Kanya Sikshak Prashikshan Sansthan, Nokha, where the victim studied; his wife Priya shukla who was the director of the university hostel where the victim resided, and Vijendra singh, a physical education teacher who committed the rape. The court also fined each convict 10,000 rupees.
A 17-year-old Dalit girl, Delta Meghwal, was found dead at her university in Rajasthan’s Bikaner five years ago, after which her parents alleged that she was raped by her teacher. Her body was found in a water tank at the Jain Adarsh ​​Girls’ Teacher Training Institute, where she was a graduate student in education.
