RBI Lieutenant Governor MK Jain gets 2-year extension


MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank said on Wednesday that the government has extended the term of the lieutenant governor Mahesh kumar Jain for two years.
“The central government has reappointed Shri Mahesh Kumar Jain as Lieutenant Governor, Reserve Bank of India for a period of two years from June 22, 2021, or until new orders, whichever comes first, upon completion of his current term on June 21, 2021, “the central bank said in a statement.
Jain was appointed Lieutenant Governor for three years in June 2018.
Before joining the Reserve Bank of India, he was Managing Director of IDBI Bank.
The other three acting deputy governors are Michael Patra, M Rajeshwar Rao and T Rabbi Sankar.
