In an interview with a news portal, the director spoke about getting Fardeen to participate in the film. He revealed that Riteish was the first choice for one of the lead roles in the film. As he and his team searched for the other lead, the filmmaker met Fardeen and was captivated by his transformation. According to Gupta, the actor was hungry to get back on the road and had worked immensely to lose a ton of weight.
The film is reportedly an official Hindi remake of the Venezuelan film, ‘Piedra, papel, sjeras’, which was the country’s official entry to the Oscars in 2012. The rights to the remake were at stake and the director knew, after watching the drama, that was the perfect recipe for a blemish Bollywood suspense novel.
It’s reportedly a story of how things can go crazy in one day. The creators plan to shoot it on the streets of the city.
On the work front, Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Mumbai Saga’ opened earlier this year in theaters at 50 percent capacity and received mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.
The film starred John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. It also featured Gulshan Grover, Suniel Shetty, Rohit Roy, Kajal Aggarwal, and others in key roles.
