Srinagar terror attack: Mortal remains of J&K Police sub-inspector reaches Kupwara | India News


SRINAGAR (JAMMU & KASHMIR): The mortal remains of the newly recruited deputy inspector Arshid Ahmad Mir, who lost his life in the terrorist attack in Srinagar on Sunday, arrived at his home in Kupwara of Jammu and Kashmir for his last rites on Sunday night.
On Sunday afternoon, terrorists attacked a police group in Khanyar in the ancient city of Srinagar, where Mir was shot by terrorists in Khanyar and later succumbed to his injuries.
“Shri Arshid Ahmad Mir, Deputy Probation Inspector, was seriously injured in a cowardly terrorist attack at Khanyar in Srinagar. He was transferred to hospital where he went to his heavenly residence,” Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted.

In response to the incident, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilabag Singh said: “We have lost a brave young officer. He was learning the nuances of policing. It is a very tragic loss for us and his family. We express our most condolences. The perpetrators involved in this case have been identified and will be brought to justice. ”
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also condemned the act. “I strongly condemn the brutal murder of our brave police officer Arshad Ashraf Mir by terrorists. This is the work of enemies of humanity and peace. Their supreme sacrifice will not be in vain, the terrorists will be punished for the act. My condolences. to the martyr’s family, “Sinha tweeted.
Later that day, a wreath-laying ceremony for police personnel was held at the Srinagar district police lines. DGP Dilbag Singh led senior police officers, paramilitary forces, Officers of the Central and Civil Police Armed Forces (CAPF) and relatives paid floral tributes to SI Arshid Ahmad Mir.
