How users are affected

The report does not explain what caused this problem with the camera. However, there is a temporary solution to fix the problem. This suggests that the problem could be related to an expired security certificate in Windows.
Some Surface Pro X users have noticed that the camera works again after reverting its date to May 22. This workaround may fix the problem for now, but there are some downsides to reverting the system date.
Doing this can cause problems with authentication on certain websites and services. However, users should note that until Microsoft addresses the root cause, this is only a temporary fix.

What could have caused the problem
The camera issue on the Surface Pro X started after Microsoft’s Build Developers conference. At this event, the company introduced improvements to Windows 11 and a new AI-powered Copilot assistant.
Microsoft is also expected to roll out a new Windows 11 update soon that will bring updates for devices like the Surface Pro X. Furthermore, the company has even discussed its plans to improve Arm-powered AI experiences. However, the company has yet to officially acknowledge the issue.
