FASTag KYC Deadline Set for February 29: How to Update, Check Status & More


The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently introduced 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative to discourage users from using a single FASTag for multiple cars or vice versa. The measure aims to reduce traffic congestion and streamline toll collection throughout the country. So how does this affect you? If you have not completed the Know Your Customer (KYC) process by February 29, your FASTag may result in deactivation.

How to update FASTag KYC?

There are different ways to easily update the KYC of your FASTag. We have listed three different ways.

Update FASTag KYC via NHAI Official Website

Step 1: Visit and log in with your registered mobile number.

Step 2: Once done, go to the Dashboard Menu and click on the My Profile option.

Step 3: On the My Profile page, you will find the KYC option. Click on it and then select “Customer Type.”

Stage 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and tick the mandatory declaration to update your FASTag KYC.

It is important to note that it typically takes seven business days for KYC to be approved once you have submitted all the documentation.

Update FASTag KYC via bank website

If you can log in to the FASTag website, you can directly go to your partner bank's website and follow these steps:

Step 1: Gonna website on your desktop or mobile device.

Step 2: Select your FASTag issuing bank and click on the website link.

Step 3: Log in to the respective FASTag issuing bank using your registered mobile number.

Stage 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and you will be able to update your FASTag KYC.

Update FASTag KYC offline

Another way to update FASTag KYC is by visiting the bank. This is what you should do:

Step 1: Visit the nearest FASTag issuing bank with your PAN, ID card, address proof and passport size photograph.

Step 2: Ask the bank representative about the KYC form for FASTag.

Step 3: Submit the duly completed form along with the documents. The bank will verify the form and process it.

Stage 4: You will receive an email and SMS notification once your FASTag KYC is updated.

Documents required to update FASTag KYC

As per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, you must provide one of the following Officially Valid Documents (OVD) to ensure KYC compliance:

  • Valid passport
  • Driver's license
  • Voter ID
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN)
  • Aadhar
  • NREGA job card endorsed by a State Government official

Also, along with these KYC documents, you must submit a copy of the registration certificate (RC) of your vehicle.

How to check FASTag KYC status online?

Here is how you can check the status of your FASTag by following these simple steps:

Step 1: visit and log in with your registered mobile number.

Step 2: Once done, go to the dashboard menu and click on My Profile option.

Step 3: There you will discover your KYC status.

Please note that if your number is not registered on the NHAI FASTag website, you must first download the MyFASTag app to register. Once done, you can follow the steps mentioned above to check the Fastag KYC status.
