ugrappa: Won’t blame others for the viral video: Congress Karnataka chief Shivakumar | India News

BENGALURU: The chairman of the Karnataka unit of Congress, DK Shivakumar He said he will not blame anyone for the viral video in which the former Lok Sabha VS member Ugrappa and media coordinator MA Saleem attributed it to an alleged scam when he was minister.
“People have already spoken what they wanted. I will not blame the BJP or the media. We only gave others the opportunity to use us, “Shivakumar told reporters here.
He was answering questions in the embarrassing video of the alleged conversation between Saleem and Ugrappa on Tuesday before a press meeting in the party’s meeting hall.
In the video, Saleem is allegedly heard calling Shivakumar a ‘Collection Giraaki’ (extortionist), who allegedly increased the ‘commission’ on irrigation contracts from eight percent to 12 percent.
The party suspended Saleem from the party for six years and served a good cause notice to Ugrappa, who is a congressional spokesperson, seeking an explanation within three days.
The congressional head of state said the topic related to the viral video was not personal, but concerned a party, which was built by hundreds of thousands of party workers.
Responding to the BJP for attacking him after the viral video, Shivakumar said to let the BJP take note of what their leaders have spoken against their leader, such as MLC AH. Vishwanath, CP Yogeshwar, Ramesh Jarkiholi and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.
“Why has the BJP not yet responded to the charges brought by Vishwanath, Yogeeshwar, Ramesh Jarkiholi and Yatnal (against former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and his family)? Why are they not talking about collections during the BJP term” said the head of state of Congress said.
He said his only goal is to bring Congress back to power.
