‘We are not political tourists’, Priyanka Gandhi hits back at BJP | India News

LUCKY: Congress general secretary Priyanka gandhi Vadra criticized the BJP on Sunday for her statement that she was a “political tourist.”
“I am not a political tourist. I have been coming regularly to UP. This is the propaganda of the BJP to portray me and my brother Rahul as non-serious politicians and we are not going to be intimidated by that,” he said.
In an informal interaction with media people, Priyanka said that the BJP repeatedly wanted to create a narrative that she and Rahul were not serious politicians.
“They (BJP) have created the perception that I have been out of UP for the last year and a half, while the fact is that I have been attending regularly kisan panchayat and other programs, “he said.
Asked about the future of Congress in the UP ahead of the next elections, she said: “I admit that our organization is weak compared to other parties. We have been out of power here for 32 years. But we are working to build the organization and the trips are long. I personally work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with all units in the district. ”
On the possibility of Congress forging an alliance or going alone in the next assembly elections, Priyanka said: “We are not closed-minded on the matter. It is too early to say anything about it, but we will make a decision that is not detrimental to the interests of the organization or party. ”
Priyanka, who is on the third day of her visit to Lucknow, said she has been trying to meet with the maximum number of party workers and groups. “My WhatsApp number is with everyone and it is wrong to say that I am not accessible,” he said.
