‘Wiser’ AP pulls out case linked to law officials from apex court | India News


NEW DELHI: The Andhra Pradesh government claimed on Thursday to have become wiser and withdrew from the Supreme Court his eight-month petition challenging an HC decision suspending investigations into a FIR TREE and prevent the police from taking enforcement action in a case involving an alleged land scam in Amaravati.
The police had searched the FIR against former state attorney general D Srinivas and 13 other people, including two daughters in one sit-in. SOUTH CAROLINA judge, for allegedly buying land in Amaravati with insider knowledge even before the decision was made to declare the area as the state capital. There were allegations that the FIRs were retaliation against an order by the SC judge to expedite the trial in pending cases against elected representatives. CM Jagan Reddy he has nearly a dozen criminal cases pending trial against him.
The HC had suspended the investigation and enforcement action against the defendants, leading the AP government to run to SC.
